24 May: Opening of the Kraków celebrations of the World Copernican Congress

The World Copernican Congress is organised to mark the 550th anniversary of the birth of the great astronomer. An official opening of the Congress will be held on 24 May at 10:00 a.m. in JU Auditorium Maximum, ul. Krupnicza 33, starting with a lecture by Rev. Prof. Michał Heller entitled Nicolaus Copernicus' Theory of Relativity. Following that, there will be two plenary sessions: Empirical Turn in Economics, A Copernican Turn or a Return of the Pendulum? and The (Copernican) Revolution in Economics.

The programme of the second day of the Congress: lecture 'T. Gresham, M. Kopernik or N. Oresme? From the history of law of worse money', discussion panels in the philosophical section - 'How Copernicus saw the world?', 'Science and the evolution of worldviews', 'Evolution or revolution: on progress in science', 'The future of science' and in the economic section - 'Fiscal-Monetary Policy Nexus', 'Evolution of the International Financial System', 'The benefits of stabilising and opening Polish economy to exchange' and 'On fixing money – from Copernican theory of money to contemporary issues in monetary and fiscal policies caused by energy and climate crisis'.

The programme of last day of the Congress features the following: lecture 'The Anthropic Principle', panel discussions: 'Is the Universe Fine-Tuned for Life?', 'Macroeconomic prediction. Theory and practice', 'Digital revolution and its consequences for finance and real economy', plenary discussions: 'The Rational Universe' i 'The Human Universe'.
